BENGALURU: Over three years since the blast near the BJP office in Malleshwaram on April 17, 2013 where as many as 18 people were injured while 23 vehicles and 56 houses in the locality were damaged, the man who supplied explosives has been arrested from Tirunelveli in Tamil Nadu by the Central Crime Branch (CCB) sleuths on Monday.

The accused has been identified as Daniel Prakash alias Prakash. With his arrest, the number of arrests in the case has increased to 16.

Sources said that the CCB police who had taken Jahan Aseer and Syed Ali to custody in March had retrieved information from them about Prakash, who had allegedly supplied the explosives. After an effort of three months, the cops gathered credible information about Prakash and picked him up from Tirunelveli on Monday.

The accused was brought to the city after being produced before a magistrate in Tirunelveli and has been remanded  in police custody. The sleuths of the special enquiry squad of the CCB are investigating the case. The police have already filed a 7,745 pages chargesheet in connection with the blast.
