Hyderabad: Three people drowned in different incidents on the city’s outskirts on Monday. Police said that 22-year-old B. Praveen Kumar, who came to swim at an abandoned quarry at Kothwalguda in Shamshabad, drow-ned while his friends were watching. Two unidentified bodies of children were found in a lake in Jagathigirigutta.
Oolice, said Praveen Kumar, a resident of Bandlaguda, came to the quarry with his friends on Monday afternoon. “Praveen misjudged the depth and drowned. His friends could not rescue him,” said SI Hari Prasad Reddy. After retrieving his body, police found that Praveen was drunk.
At Jagathigirigutta, people found two pairs of chappals and clothes on the banks of Parki Lake on Monday evening. The cops called swimmers and retrieved two bodies. “We have not identified the bodies. They must be aged between 10 and 12,” said inspector P. Srinivas.
