Hyderabad: Minors rescued from gutka unit

Hyderabad: Cyberabad Police raided a unit that was illegally manufacturing gutka in Mailardev-pally. The officials rescued three minor boys who were employed at the unit and arrested five persons, including its owner.
Police also seized gutka and raw material in huge quantities. Balala Hakkula Sangham demanded a health check up for the rescued children who were working in hazardous conditions.
The suspects were identified as Kolaria Damodar (47) of Begum Bazaar and Deepak Kumar Singh (32), Vittal (55), M Ansari (22) and Kamruddin Ansari (22), Shamsheergunj.
At the unit in TNGO’s Colony in Katedan, Damodar was the owner and four others worked under him. “The five persons were arrested, while the minors were rescued and handed over to Child Protection Cell.” Mail-ardevpally Inspector P Jagadeeshwar said.
During the raids, Police seized two gutka manufacturing machines,
