Hyderabad: Man tries to commit suicide

Hyderabad: Tension prevailed in Mailardevpally when the driver of a private car, climbed a high tension electric cable tower claiming that he played a vital role in nabbing the suspects in the Muthoot heist in RC Puram in December last. V. Mallesh said that cops promised to offer a Home Guard post to him, but did not keep their word. Police denied the claims and also booked him for attempt to suicide.
Mallesh hails from Mahbubnagar district and is settled in Babulreddynagar in Mailardevpally. In December 2016, armed robbers decamped with around 45 kg gold from Muthoot finance in RC Puram. After the incident, teams were formed to nab the suspects. Mailardevpally inspector P. Jagadeeshwar also heading a team. They hired a private vehicle and Mallesh drove the vehicle.
Mallesh claimed that he drove them to Gulbarga and Sedam in Karnataka. He said though it was not his job, he also worked with the police in searching the suspects in the dense forest area.
“Despite knowing that they had weapons, I identified and caught one of them, while cops were searching for them in a different direction.” he said.
With the help of the suspect, cops could arrest four more. Mallesh said after returning to Hyderabad, the Commissioner felicitated him and also assured him a job in the police department.
