Chennai: Three school students held for two-wheeler thefts

Chennai: Three school students have been detained by the city police for allegedly being involved in a series of two-wheeler thefts in the city, on Sunday. The students were sent to the observation home at Kelly’s.
According to the police, six stolen two-wheelers were retrieved from the minors, hailing from Kodambakkam and Choolaimedu, which were hidden in various places to be sold. Police said that the trio had been indulging in the crime for a while.
Choolaimedu police began an inquiry after they received a complaint on Saturday and the students were nabbed with the help of CCTV footage. One of them is a regular offender and was recently released from Kelly’s home, the police said.
Meanwhile, Arumbakkam police have arrested L. Karan (21) of Kolathur, S. Gopal (22) of Moolakadai and K. Sadam Hussain (24) of Avadi. Three stolen two-wheelers had been recovered from them.
