Chandini murder was premeditated: Police
Boyfriend' had planned to eliminate her a month ago.
Hyderabad: The police is viewing the murder of teenager Chandini Jain as a premeditated crime by her alleged boyfriend, who had planned to kill her a month ago. Chandini’s decomposed body was discovered on Tuesday, three days after she went missing.
Police say the boy who has been arrested, had gone to Ameenpur along with his friends several times in the past and so knew the topography of the hilly terrain.
“A month ago, he went to the hilly area in Ameenpur and spent some time studying the topography of the area,” said a police officer investigating the case.
On September 9, he took the teenager to the spot and killed her, the police allege.
“It was a premeditated murder and the motive was clear: he wanted to get rid of the girl,” said the officer.
The Cyberabad police said that social media has linked the boy with Chandini, though their relationship was broken some years ago due to some personal issues.
“Parents should be careful and monitor the social media activities of their children. In the case of Chandini, there were several strangers on her friends’ list with whom she was communicating,” the police officer said.
Cyberabad police commissioner, Sandeep Shandilya, said that the social media is beneficial and harmful.
“Proper monitoring should be done specially of children and teenagers because these groups are very prone to sexual assaults and even property offences,” he said.
Another police officer associated with the investigation said that the victim had participated in a three-day interschool fest organised at a hotel.
“Students of various institutions participated in the fest. The boy did not attend it. His friend was present there,” said the officer.
