Chennai: MBA student falls from girlfriend's terrace, dies
The deceased was identified as S. Gautham, a native of Tiruchy.
Chennai: A 22-year-old MBA student died after he fell from the terrace of his classmate’s apartment building in Chromepet on Wednesday night. The deceased was identified as S. Gautham, a native of Tiruchy. He was staying with his friends in Pallikaranai and was into his second year MBA at a private engineering college near Tambaram.
Police said Gautham had returned from Tiruchy after pooja holidays and reached Tambaram railway station on Wednesday around 7.45 pm and was supposed to attend college from Thursday onwards. From Tambaram he went to the flat of his classmate Asha in Vedantha Colony near Chromepet to leave his luggage there. “He kept his bags and promised to come back to pick them up on Thursday. After interacting with Asha and her mother, he said he was leaving. Asha’s family stay in a first floor flat.
Instead of going to the road, Gautham went up to the third floor terrace of the apartment and Asha too followed him. Later, when Asha’s mother called her daughter from downstairs, she came rushing down. As soon as Asha had came down, Gautham slipped from the parapet wall and fell to the ground, suffering serious head injuries. He was taken to Chromepet GH where he died not responding to treatment,” Chromepet police said. His father Srinivasan, a railway employee in Tiruchy, received Gautham’s body on Thursday and took it back to his native place for the last rites.
