Jayalalithaa's health: Two held for spreading rumours

The party men and public have so far launched as many as 50 cases against miscreants spreading rumours about Amma's health.

Chennai: In the backdrop of Chennai cyber police on Thursday arresting two more persons for spreading rumours on Chief Minister J. Jayalalithaa’s health through social media, the AIADMK IT wing also intensified its online search operations by designating full time core employees to monitor Facebook, Twitter and WhatsApp groups to help the cops go after miscreants milling rumours.

The party men and public have so far launched as many as 50 cases against miscreants spreading rumours about Amma’s health and a round the clock team is assigned to track Facebook posts, tweets and WhatsApp posts that may affect the emotions of Tamil Nadu public, said Singai G. Ramachandran, state AIADMK IT wing secretary. “Opposition is playing with the emotions of the public by spreading rumours on Amma’s health,” he said.
