Anantapur: OPDR leader's son hacked to death

The accused were acquitted few days ago after the prosecution failed to prove charges against D Sathar and others.

The Dharmapuri district police suspect the death of a missing girl to be a case of murder, as her relatives allegedly hushed up the issue and planned to cremate her body without informing the police.

Anantapur: Former slain OPDR leader K. Ramakrishna Reddy’s son Rammohan Reddy, 38 of Janasaksthi Nagar was hacked by his rivals at Tapovanam circle in Anantapur on Wednesday evening. IV-town police said Ramakrishna Reddy was hacked by his rivals in Janasakthi Nagar four years Rammohan Reddy was waylaid by a group of rivals wearing masks near Tapovanam bus stand when he was coming out of a tea stall. 

Three assailants attacked him with hunting sickles and fled from the spot. His close aides immediately shifted him to the Government general hospital with serious injuries. Doctors declared him as brought dead. Police posted a picket at Janasaksthi Nagar following the attack and launched a manhunt to nab the killers. Police said rivalry between both groups in the colony could possibly be the reason behind the murder.
