Hyderabad: Driver gets 20-yr rigorous imprisonment for raping minor
Hyderabad: The special sessions judge for Pocso cases in LB Nagar on Thursday sentenced a car driver to undergo 20 years of rigorous imprisonment (RI) after he was found guilty in a minor’s rape.
The accused Pandula Nagaraju, 23, in 2019 was arrested and prosecuted for confining and raping a minor girl in Saroornagar police station limits, police said.
The convict Nagaraju, a resident of Shubodaya Colony in Karmanghat was found guilty in the charges against him in crime number 275 of 2019 case in section 376 of the IPC and sections 3 and 4 of the Pocso Act.
Apart from conviction, the court imposed a fine of '30,000 on him and awarded the victim a compensation of '10 lakh, a press release issued by Rachakonda police stated.
