P Krishnadas booked for death threat
The trustee also allegedly said that he had the money and power to do as he wanted.
Thrissur: The Pampady police on Tuesday registered a case against Nehru Group managing trustee P. Krishnandas on a complaint filed by the parents of two students of Nehru Engineering College, Pampady. In the complaint filed with Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan and DGP Loknath Behera on Monday, the parents of Athul Jose and Nikhil Antony alleged that Krishnadas had threatened to kill their sons, who were in the forefront of the protest at the college after the death of Jishnu Pranoy, a student of the college, on January 6.
Krishnadas is the first accused in the Jishnu suicide case and non-bailable offences like conspiracy and abetment to suicide have been slapped on him. The parents referred to a meeting with Krishnadas on February 8 at the college in which he allegedly told them that if both the students did not withdraw from the strike, the parents will find them either in a hospital or in a mortuary. The trustee also allegedly said that he had the money and power to do as he wanted.
Meanwhile, the Special Investigation Team led by Irinjalakuda ASP Kiran Narayanan is yet to arrest any of the five accused in the suicide case, who had been absconding since Sunday. Thrissur rural police chief N. Vijayakumar said the cops had visited the houses of the relatives of the accused in Kerala and Tamil Nadu, but could not find them. The activists of SFI, KSU, ABVP and MSF continued their protest on Tuesday in front of the college demanding the arrest of the accused.
