Bank employee kills wife and mother-in-law two weeks after marriage
ANANTAPUR: A bank employee who married a woman two weeks ago hacked her and the mother-in-law to death over an issue of an illicit affair the wife maintained, in Kurnool city on Tuesday, police said.
According to fourth town police, Shravan of Subbalakshmi Nagar in Chennamma Circle area was working at a bank in Hyderabad. He married Krishnaveni of Vanaparthi in Telangana.
Shravan reportedly noticed she was having an affair and quarreled over it since the day of the marriage. On Tuesday, Krishnaveni's father Prasad and mother Ramadevi arrived at the Kurnool home to discuss and solve the issue between the couple.
“A heated argument took place between the newly wed wife and husband. Shravan’s father Subbaiah was vexed over the attitude of the daughter-in-law towards his son and hatched a plan to kill her. Subbaiah and Shravan attacked Krishnaveni with a knife and then her mother Rama Devi and father Prasad. Shravan's mother helped him and his father in the attack,” as per the police case.
During the attack, Krishnaveni and Ramadevi died on the spot while Prasad suffered serious injuries. Locals shifted Prasad to the Kurnool general hospital and his condition was stated to be critical.
Kurnool fourth town police said a case was registered. Bodies of Krishnaveni and Ramadevi were shifted to the general hospital for post mortem. Shravan and his father Subbaiah were arrested.
