Pudding & Mink drug case: Police get vital information
Two accused were taken to the additional commissioner of police Mohammed Hafeezuddin’s office on the first floor of police station building
Hyderabad: The two accused in the Pudding & Mink drug case M. Anil Kumar and Vuppala Abhishek were taken into police custody for further interrogation on Thursday.
They were brought to Banjara Hills police around 1.20 pm in a police Bolero.
As the vehicle was parked at the gate and Abhishek was escorted to the crime department Anil taking advantage of his short height, to avoid being exposed to media, got down from the other side door followed by the constables ran directly into the police station unnoticed.
Both were taken to the additional commissioner of police Mohammed Hafeezuddin’s office on the first floor of the police station building and the doors were shut with only K. Nageshwar Rao, inspector of Banjara Hills, Mohammed Hafeezuddin additional inspector started their interrogation.
Abhishek’s wife along with his advocate J. Susheel Kumar brought lots of snacks and lunch boxes in a white cover but were not allowed to meet the accused till late in the evening.
This time the police acted very cleverly Abhishek and Anil were first interrogated separately and then jointly in the presence of Banjara Hills M. Sudershan assistant commissioner of police (ACP) and four inspectors including the investigation officer K. Nageshwar Rao, police sources revealed.
The interrogation started from 1.45 pm and continued for six hours without any break.
The accused’s phones were the only source of getting the information and it did work out by the end of the evening police were able to get the names and numbers of seven Mumbai, Goa and Rajasthan based drug peddlers using Caller Dialer Record (CDR) that the police had already collected from the service providers. Based on these contact numbers and names the accused were constantly questioned without a break, police sources revealed.
