8 held for illegal land registration
KURNOOL: Nandyal police busted of a gang eight people on Sunday who was involved in creating fake legal heir documents and fake death certificates for valuable lands for false registrations. Town DSP C. Maheswar Reddy addressed the media and said they have arrested Ch Pawan, M Tirumalayya, SK Aslam, SK Dada Peer, SK Nabi Rasool, A Krishnamohan from Nandyal town, S Khasim, and M. Moulali from Mahanandi in the town limits on Sunday.
A complaint was lodged at Nandyal taluk police station on April 24 this year and subsequently, a case was registered 75/2023 under SC/ST Act against accused Tirumalaiah, and Ragineni Sanjeeva.
The police interrogated Ch Pawan, Thirumalaiah, Moulali, Khasim, and document writers Sumanth, Aslam, Dada Peer and Nabi Rasool who revealed entire episode that they had created fake documents and certificates pertaining to 50 cents of land located behind Udayananda Hospital in Nandyal town of document number 3220/1995 owned by Mahendrakar Venkata Lakshmibai engaged by Sanga Lakshmikantha Reddy and the accused later sold the land to P. Kiran Kumar using fake documents for Rs. 18.50 lakh.
Since there was a dispute between Kiran Kumar and some original owners of the plot, the victim, Kiran, approached the police for help as the accused threatened to kill him.
Police arrested the accused in the city on Sunday and recovered some stamp papers, documents, fake seals, and other materials from them. Some accused in the case are at large, city DSP said.
