1-year-old abducted from Tirumala
Incidentally this is the second such incident in Tirumala this year.
Nellore: An unidentified couple has abducted a one-year-old boy at Tirumala during the early hours of Wednesday. The incident took place in the morning around 5.55 am at Golla mandapam which is located in front of the Srivari temple.
According to the police, the kidnapped boy is the youngest amongst the four children of K. Venkatesh and K. Ratnamma.
The couple along with their children had come from Saipuram village of Uravakonda mandalam in Ananthapur district. They reached Tirumala on Tuesday and visited the temple of Lord Venkateshwara the same night.
After the darshan, the family retired to Golla mandapam for the night. When they woke up at 6.30 am, they were shocked to find their youngest child missing. The panic-stricken parents rushed to the police after their fervent search ended in vain.
The police examined the taped footage of the closed circuit cameras. The footage showed a couple taking way the sleeping child at 5.55 am. The police have released the footage to the media.
As per the instructions of Tirupati Urban SP Jayalakshmi, police registered a case of kidnapping and formed teams headed by CI's Venkat Ravi, Thulasi Ram and Ramakrishna under the supervision of DSP Muniramayya to track down the culprits and bring back the child to the parents.
Incidentally this is the second such incident in Tirumala this year.
In January this year, a five-year-old girl child was kidnapped by an unidentified person when she was sleeping with her parents at Madhava Nilayam in Tirumala. The kidnapper was traced two days after the incident.
