Hyderabad: The butchered body of a woman, aged about 45-50, was found in the bushes of Erragadda Mental Hospital premises on Thursday.

The woman’s legs were chopped off and were found on the terrace of the Male Ward building.

SR Nagar police arrived with the clues team and inspected the crime scene.

Interestingly, doctors at the hospital said that soon after the body was found, they ran a check on their patients and it was revealed that the murdered person was an outsider.

Police suspect that she was murdered elsewhere and her body was dumped on the hospital premises.

According to the police, the woman’s legs were chopped off and found farther away from the body. The body itself was noticed in a secluded spot surrounded by bushes on the hospital campus.

Dr Uma Shanker, superintendent of Mental Hospital explained, “After the body was found we have checked on all the patients and their attendants in our hospital. None of them are missing. The deceased is not one of our patients.”

Based on a complaint from R. Mohan, the RMO, the SR Nagar police have booked a murder case and are trying to identify the woman.
