Hyderabad: Fresh allegations against tainted sub-inspector
The advocate told that the S-I had seized his mobile and kept it with him for about a month.
Hyderabad: An advocate from Mehdipatnam has levied allegations against the tainted Humayunnagar sub-inspector Ch. Srikanth, who was trapped by the Anti-Corruption Bureau on Wednesday.
The advocate Yasser Arafat said that he had approached the sub-inspector after two persons allegedly duped him of Rs 5 lakh after taking it as an advance for a land parcel in the city outskirts.
“I visited the police station several times and was guided to Srikanth. The S-I did not register any case against those who duped me and was dilly-dallying the case. Senior police officials were of little help,” said Mr Arafat.
The advocate told that the S-I had seized his mobile and kept it with him for about a month. “There are several cases registered against the persons who duped me in several police stations. Only Srikanth, did not register any case despite me complaining,” he added.
Humayunnagar inspector N.L.N. Raju said that a case was registered and permission is being sought from the court. “A case under Section 506 of IPC was registered and chargesheet is yet to be filed in the case,” he said.
