Hyderabad: Chargesheets in MLM cases soon
The other cases are that of the Sun Pariwar Group of companies and the Future Maker Life Care Company.
Hyderabad: Cyberabad police is all set to file chargesheets in three sensational cases of five multi-level marketing and the Haritaki Fruits fraud case registered by its Economic Offences Wing, which was formed exclusively to probe cases involving large numbers of victims. The drafts of the chargesheets are under review by senior officials after which they will be filed in the courts by next week.
One of the first cases probed by the EOW was the Haritaki Fruits fraud, in which around 650 persons deposited over Rs 8 crore, expecting higher returns.
Most of the customers targeted in the fraud were women. Police who arrested six persons including the kingpin M. Mallikarjuna, 36, said he advertised widely about the ‘easy earning’ method and cheated people.
In the case booked against Pro Healthywayz International LLP run by four IIT dropouts, police found that around 40,000 customers from Telangana state and Andhra Pradesh were duped by the company which offered commissions to customers who got more persons to join their schemes to get health care and cosmetic products.
The other cases are that of the Sun Pariwar Group of companies and the Future Maker Life Care Company. Police said that hundreds of crores of rupees were swindled from people, mostly from the two Telugu states. “All four cases were registered in 2018 and handed over to the EOW for a thorough probe. The dedicated wing has completed investigation in all four cases,” said a senior police official from Cyberabad.
“The eBiz.com case is still under investigation and as soon as the probe is finished, the charge-sheet will be filed before the court,” said the official, adding that if they find additional data in the MLM cases, they will proceed to file supplementary chargesheets as and when necessary.
