The Kadugodi police who have registered a case are investigating where the accused were involved in similar cases in the past.

Bengaluru: Three people were arrested by the Kadugodi police on Friday in connection with possession and transportation of 872 kg of red sanders. While the accused, Madu Ponnuswamy (37) and Palani M (40), from Salem and Palani Murugan (25) from Dharmapuri, were transporting red sanders to Tamil Nadu in a car, the police intercepted them based on a tip-off. A team of policemen on patrol intercepted the vehicle near Khaji Sonnenahalli gate in Whitefield. 

The accused had removed the seats on back rows and stuffed red sanders. The accused confessed that they were taking the red sanders to deliver to their contacts. The accused have been taken into custody to ascertain the source of red sanders, the police said. 

The Kadugodi police who have registered a case are investigating where the accused were involved in similar cases in the past. “The accused are mere transporters. We are making efforts to nab the main culprits,” a police officer said.
