Hyderabad: Depressed over not securing pass marks in the Board of Intermediate Examinations advanced supplementary, a student from Balanagar committed suicide by hanging at his house on Sunday.
Balanagar sub-inspector Khaleel Pasha said the student, Deepak Jangid, 19, was a resident of APHB Colony.
He pursued the MPC stream in Intermediate at the Sri Chaitanya Junior College in the IDPL area near Balanagar. During the intermediate examinations in March, Deepak could not secure pass marks in the two mathematics papers.
Deepak applied for the advanced supplementary examinations for which the results were announced by the BIE on Sunday. The boy found that he could not secure pass marks in both the mathematics papers. He was at home when he learned about the results.
At about 4 pm, Deepak reportedly went inside the bathroom and hanged himself from the ceiling using a cloth. His parents, who were at home brought him down but he had died by them.
A case of suspicious death was registered following a complaint from the boy’s father Kamal Kishore. The body was shifted to the Gandhi Hospital mortuary for autopsy, the sub-inspector said.
