Woman tortured to death in Jaipur

Jaipur: Five people have been arrested for allegedly torturing a widow to death after branding her a  “witch”. The accused including some family members and relatives dragged Kanya out of the house by her hair and forced her to eat faeces and drink sewer water. Thereafter, she was chained and whiplashed with hot iron rods and forced into walking on a bed of embers. The 40-year-old victim succumbed to her injuries the next day.

To cover up the murder, the accused cremated immediately without informing her family. The incident took place on August 3.
