Visakhapatnam: The swimming in the blue waters amidst joy turned tragic for a group of friends who had gone for a swim at RK Beach here on Friday evening. Two of them went missing and are feared to have drowned while one swam to safety. The missing children were identified as M. Aditya and K. Santhosh, both Class-IX students and aged around 14-years and residents of Subhashnagar.

Inspector of Three-Town Police Station, B. Venkata Rao said that four friends from Subhashnagar came to the RK Beach. Of the four, three — Aditya, Santhosh and Chaitanya — ventured into the waters. While they were swimming in the waters, they were caught in a strong current which took them deep inside the sea. While Chaitanya was rescued by community guard V. Yellaji, his friends feared drowned.

The police have launched search operations to trace the missing children. As per reports, Aditya is a student of Pen School at Akkayyapalem branch and Santhosh is student of St.Ann’s school at Butchirajupalem.
