Hyderabad: Man gets 2 years jail for dowry harassment
He has allegedly been demanding additional dowry since they got married in 1991, and often harassed her physically, police said.

Hyderabad: The city court has sentenced Mohammed Shareef, 50, to two years imprisonment and has also imposed a fine of Rs 10,000 on Friday for harassing his wife.
He has allegedly been demanding additional dowry since they got married in 1991, and often harassed her physically, police said.
Amy Ashraf Unnisa, 45, lodged a complaint in 2013 after her husband threw her out of the house for not getting additional dowry. She said that her parents gave 2.5 tola gold, a scooter and household articles at the time of their marriage, yet he demanded an additional Rs 3 lakh. Unnisa stated that Shareef and her in-laws used to harass her mentally.
