A case of attempt to murder, causing hurt and criminal conspiracy has been registered, the police said on Saturday

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Mannanthala police on Saturday arrested seven, including five students of Mar Ivanios College, Mannanthala for abducting and brutally attacking a college mate inside a car for three hours. The victim identified as Ashwin, a BCom student who was waylaid at Peroorkada by a 11-member gang in a car and two bikes. The gang took turns to rough him up inside car before abandoning him on road near his relative’s house.

“There was an issue in college between second year and third year students. When a police party arrived here, they said they have no complaint. Later, the prime accused in the case, named Servin filed a case against victim Ashwin and his friend Akku alleging they roughed him up. Then he assembled a gang to attack victim,” Mannanthala SI Anoop S. The gang including four outsiders had abducted Ashwin near Muttada. Akku’s friend alerted him and he managed to escape. Ashwin who suffered injuries was recuperating. Police has started a probe to find the rest of the gang.
