Bengaluru: Woman ends life due to dowry harassment

On Tuesday night, while she was home alone,she hung herself from the ceiling and the incident came to light when her husband returned home.

Bengaluru: A 28-year-old woman committed suicide by hanging herself from the ceiling at her residence over alleged dowry harassment from her husband in Amruthahalli police station limits on Tuesday night.

The deceased has been identified as Navya, a native of Chikkaballapur. She got married to Ramesh Babu, a software engineer, 10 years ago and later shifted to the city.

The couple were living in a rented house in Venkategowda Layout along with their two children. According to the police, Navya’s family is alleging that Ramesh had been torturing his wife and he often forced her to go to her parent’s house and demanded dowry. On Tuesday night, while she was home alone, she hung herself from the ceiling and the incident came to light when her husband returned home.
