TS Cops Brief on Best Practices at the ​Cybercrime Coordination Meeting

HYDERABAD: The first Regional Conference of Joint Cyber Crime Coordination Team (IV) was held in Hyderabad on Friday at Telangana State Cyber Security Bureau Headquarters with key officials from the Union Home Ministry (MHA), Telangana, Maharashtra, Karnataka, Rajasthan, Goa and Haryana states to discuss on coordination efforts, detection, prevention of cyber crimes among citizens and organisations. Officials from the Indian Cyber Crime Coordination Centre (I4C) and the Directorate Of Enforcement also attended the meeting. Telangana is the nodal state for Cybercrimes for all these states.

During the meeting attended by Sundari Nanda, Special Secretary, Internal Security, MHA, Telangana DGP, CEO, I4C Rajesh kumar, Telangana DGP Anjani Kumar detailed the best practices Telangana police is following in investigating cybercrime cases. He also informed them about the Telangana State Cyber Security Bureau (TSCSB), a first of its kind initiative in the country, which is headed by M Stephen Raveendra

Telangana police explained about CyCaps, an application developed by the Telangana police, for keeping a track of cybercriminals arrested across the country. They also explained how TSCSB is collecting details of cybercriminals arrested in other states, using the mobile numbers and bank accounts used by them in the crime, finding their involvement in cases registered across the country and sharing the information with respective states for further action.

“ The power packed day long session cum workshop is to further strengthen states’ actions. Officials from other states are highly appreciative of proactive initiatives of Telangana and also visited the TSCSB,” Telangana police officials said.
