Hyderabad: CCS police arrested notorious conman, K. Venkat Ratna Reddy, 40, who cheated women of several lakhs with marriage proposals using matrimonial sites. Reddy pulled off one of the biggest con act in his life by cheating a US-based NRI woman and escaped with $30,000 from the US.  Reddy had married the woman and lived with her for 20 days in the US before escaping with the money to India. “The victim was a divorcee settled in the US. The suspect had given matrimonial ads with false info. Later, they got married and went to the US, from where he left for India,” CCS ACP K.C.S. Raghu Vir.

Days before police arrested him, the suspect  was trying to marry another NRI woman based in Canada to cheat her. "He had all plans chalked out to dupe the innocent woman," said the officer. After he came out on bail, he ran a prostitution racket. He then stole cars, tried to rob a bank in Guntur and committed other offenses in order to make money.
