Rich' woman pickpocket nabbed in Chennai

The arrested woman was identified as S. Krishnammal, a native of Andhra Pradesh.

Chennai: A 30-year-old woman who had been picking purses and pockets in buses in Chennai and Bengaluru was arrested by Chennai police on Friday.

Police recovered 56 sovereigns of gold and Rs 1.35 lakh cash from her house in Madhavaram.  

The arrested woman was identified as S. Krishnammal, a native of Andhra Pradesh. Police said she was involved in at least 18 cases in Chennai. She was nabbed in Vadapalani on Friday afternoon when she tried to escape after stealing a bag belonging to a woman passenger of a MTC bus.
