Scooterist tries to burn car, driver
Yadav took out a bottle of petrol and poured it on Ramesh and Ms Nair and tried to set them ablaze.
Hyderabad: In an incident of road rage, a scooterist tried to set on fire a car, its driver and a woman passenger in Shadnagar on Friday. Police said Ms Vasundhara Nair, wife of religious leader Guruswamy Satishan Nair, was travelling in a car from Palamakula to Shadnagar with one Ramesh at the wheel.
After crossing Chatanpally, Ramesh honked and overtook a scooterist identified as Ashok Yadav. Angered by this, Yadav overtook the car, intercepted and stopped it. Ramesh got down from the vehicle and an argument ensued, and Ms Nair came out to pacify them. Shadnagar sub-inspector J. Narayan Singh said Yadav took out a bottle of petrol and poured it on Ramesh and Ms Nair and tried to set them ablaze. Onlookers rushed to the spot and rescued them, but Yadav fled.
