RAJAHMUNDRY: Ramachandrapuram railway station superintendent Md Riyaz was booked by the government railway police for placing a CCTV camera and recording footage of women employees changing clothes secretly on Wednesday night.

According to GRP CI Madhusudhan Reddy, Md Riyaz fixed a CCTV camera in a room attached to his room in a cupboard to record employees changing their civilian clothes and putting on their uniform while taking up work.

A Class IV woman employee while changing her civilian dress noticed a CCTV camera adapter’s LED light blinking for some days. Suspecting something wrong, she opened the cupboard and found the camera and removed its memory card and placed it in her mobile phone only to find photos of herself and other employees changing their dress.

She alerted the higher authorities of the railways, who in turn reportedly placed the station superintendent under suspension.

Meanwhile, based on the complaint lodged by the woman, GRP sleuths booked the station superintendent under Sections 354 (C) of IPC and also under section 66 (E) of the IT Act. The accused will be arrested shortly and will be produced before the magistrate soon.
