Hyderabad: 6 organise cockfight on Sankranti, arrested
The suspects, residents of JVG Hills in Kondapur, organised cockfights in an open area by betting money.
Hyderabad: Six persons were arrested by the Gachibowli police for organising cockfights on the eve of Sankranti.
The arrested were identified as Kalidindi Subba Rao, a watchman, Paliveli Sathibabu, a lorry driver, Shikoti Pochaiah, Pitani Suribabu and Kalidinid Venkanna working as watchmen at different locations and M. Govind Reddy, who is dealing with sand business. One of the accused persons, Venkateshwar Rao, is absconding.
The suspects, all residents of JVG Hills in Rajarajeshwari colony in Kondapur, organised cockfights in an open area by betting money .They used three cocks.
Based on a tip-off, the police raided the place and nabbed the suspects and rescued the cocks. The police recovered Rs 9,800 and a bike from them. The arrested persons were produced in the court.
