Hyderabad: Boy ends life in orphanage

Hyderabad: A Class VIII student committed suicide at a hostel in Vanasthalipuram on Thursday allegedly due to harassment by the management of an orphanage. Police said that students found M. Vamshi hanging in a room on the second floor and informed the management.
The cops registered a suspicious death case. Meanwhile, his father Yellesh blamed the hostel management’s carelessness towards the safety of students for his son’s death.
Mukkera Vamshi, 16, belonging to Warangal district, was staying at the Matrusri Orphanage in Sahebnagar, and was studying at a nearby ZP High School.
On Thursday morning, while other students at the home went to school, Vamshi stayed back. One of the boys, Rajesh, who went to dry his clothes on the second floor of the building, found Vamshi hanging on a chunni in one of the rooms.
He called his brother Mahesh and both informed the management. He was rushed to a nearby hospital where he was declared dead. Vamshi’s father Yellesh alleged that Vamshi had told him that he was not comfortable at the hostel.
“This is entirely due to the negligence of the hostel management. Strict action must be taken against all those responsible for my son's death,” Yellesh said.
Police registered a suspicious death case. “We are awaiting the autopsy report and are checking the facts of the incident, Vanasthalipuram SI M. Madhusudan said.
