Karimnagar: The Karimnagar police has taken precautionary measures to save Vamshidhar from being killed by the irate passersby and victim’s relatives and moved him out of Karimnagar town and lodged him in Konaraopet police station.

Vamsidhar had slit his lover Rasagna's throat resulting in her death on Friday.

The incident took place in front of the Karimnagar collectorate and people present there pushed him to the floor and started kicking him indiscriminately.

One Venkatesh, of Karimnagar, said that the accused might have been killed by the mob that gathered, if the police hadn't reached on time.

The victim’s family members met Ramagumdam MLA Somarapu Satyanarayana and explained the entire story that led to Rasagna's death.

Somarapu Satyanarayana promised ex gratia from the state government's side.

It may be recalled that villagers of Laxmipur had beaten a stalker to death for stabbing a government school teacher in the class room in the past in old Adilabad.

In many previous cases, locals have demanded that the police hand over the accused to them so that they will punish him accordingly or plead the police to kill him in an encounter.
