Pulsar Suni's threat has cops play it safe
Police refuses to bring him before court.
Kochi: Dramatic scenes were witnessed on Wednesday when the cops refused to produce Pulsar Suni, main accused in the actor abduction and sexual assault case, before the Angamaly Judicial Magistrate court following his threat earlier in the day that he would reveal identity of ‘Madam’ to waiting media persons at the court.
While his lawyer Adv Aloor claimed that there was a conspiracy in not producing Suni, the police submitted before the Angamaly court that they had to produce him at another court, nearly 30 kms away, almost at the same time.
Earlier, the police took Suni to the Ernakulam Additional Chief Judicial Magistrate Court in a separate case relating to alleged abduction bid of a former actress. The court extended his remand custody to August 30 in the case.
While being taken out of the court, Suni told reporters that he would reveal the name of the ‘Madam’ when cops produce him before the Angamaly court in the actor abduction case. However, the cops took him straight to the Kakkanad district jail.
Aloor later gave a petition before the Angamaly court seeking direction to the police to produce Suni before the court. He claimed that Suni wanted to give secret statement before the court in connection to the case.
“There was a conspiracy to prevent this. Suni had revealed to me the role of certain actresses in the case. However, I won’t reveal the same.. let him do it,” he said.
The Angamaly court also extended the remand of Suni and his sides including Vijesh to August 30.
Meanwhile K.P. Sarojam, mother of actor Dileep, in a letter to Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan sought the removal of the current investigation officers in the case while demanding that the probe should be handed over to “honest agencies like Crime Branch”.
