Delhi-based burglar lands in police net

It is learnt that after reaching Bengaluru, Harmain used to recce the area in his car and target locked houses at night.

Bengaluru: A high flying burglar, who used to fly from Delhi to carry out thefts in the city, was arrested by J.B. Nagar police. 

Police said the accused, identified as Harmain Khan, 27 alias Sonu, used to target locked houses in Bengaluru and has over 40 cases of house break thefts registered against him.

Police said Harmain used to catch a flight from Delhi  to Chennai. There he would visit his friend, take his car and drive to Bengaluru to commit house thefts. He used to  stay in hotels in the city and then target houses for thefts.

Harmain’s run came to end when the police received a tip-off, and the arrest of a gang member.

According to a source, Ashish, one of the gang members was recently arrested by Bengaluru police. 

During interrogation Ashish revealed the details about how the gang operated under Harmain.

It is learnt that after reaching Bengaluru, Harmain used to recce the area in his car and target locked houses at night.

After committing the theft, he would drive back to Chennai and then take a flight to Delhi. 

In Delhi, Harmain would sell the stolen articles in Chor Bazaar and then divide the money among gang members.  

The J.B. Nagar police have registered a case and  recovered one and half kilogram of gold articles. 

The police said they are on lookout for his accomplices.
