Death of 42-year-old man seen as murder: wife, paramour as accused

KAKINADA: A sudden death of a 42-year-old man is suspected to be a case of murder. Kola Subbarao of Balantram village in K Gangavaram mandal in Dr BR Ambedkar Konaseema district died on May 31.

According to Pamarru Police, the deceased’s wife Veera Venkata Lakshmi (28) told the relatives that the death was due to heart-attack. Based on this, the last rites were performed.

Subsequently Subbarao’s wife went to her parents’ house at Uppumili in Kajuluru mandal of Kakinada district.

Meanwhile, a youth Ulisi Srinivas (28) of Balantram, who had not been spotted in the village since May last, reappeared in the first week of September and went to the house of Venkata Lakshmi. This aroused suspicion of the relatives, who found Venkata Lakshmi and Srinivas scandalously locked in a room. They informed the police. The Pamarru police rushed to the spot and interrogated the two and confirmed the death to be a murder done by the two.

“To see the exit of Subba Rao, Srinivas and Venkata Lakshmi hatched a conspiracy and gave tranquilizers to the man and then he was strangled to death.

Based on a complaint given by Kola Veeranjanyeulu, the brother of the deceased, we registered a case under 302, 201, R/w 34 IPC,” local police said.
