28-yr-old Hyderabad man held for raping Karnataka girl

 Hyderabad: A 28-year-old man was booked in charges of raping and cheating a young woman. The accused, Mahendra Chary, a resident of Alwal, got in contact with a 22-year-old victim, native of Karnataka who had come to the city two months back and was working in a hostel in Medchal, police said.

Mahendra, who was arrested on Friday night, confessed before police that he developed physical relations with her two months back and also promised to marry her.

Bowenpally police arrested the accused and sent him to remand based on the complaint that he had cheated her and raped her by promising to marry her and last week got married to another woman, said Bowenpally sub inspector Nagendra Babu said.

The police registered a case against the accused under SC and ST Atrocity Sections and arrested the accused on Friday. He was produced before court, later remanded in judicial custody.
