Chikkadpally SHO paid the price for intruding' into Pravalika's mobile

Hyderabad: The suspension of Chikkadpally SHO P. Naresh after the suicide of Marri Pravalika was not just for his inability to handle the situation but was also because he had allegedly ‘intruded’ into her mobile phone and accessed her private Whatsapp conversations.

Further, he did not conduct the crime scene panchnama (inquest) properly. It is nothing tampering with the evidence, sources added. This action from city police chief Sandeep Shandilya for ignoring these two very important aspects of any case has sent out a strong message to the police force.

Sources said an investigating officer must not open the phone because there is a chance of foul play. Opening the phone was the job of the Forensic Science Laboratory, they said. Besides, the victim and her family were entitled to dignity.

“Evidence has to be seized under proper panchnama and sent to FSL, Clues team are also there for doing this job,” officials said.
