Gold, cash stolen from house in Hyderabad

The valuables were kept for the marriage of Satyamma's granddaughter, a police officer said.

Hyderabad: Thieves broke into a house in Kushaiguda and decamped with 300 gram gold and Rs 11 lakh on Wednesday.

Police said, Satyamma, a resident of Kushaiguda market, had locked her house and had gone to the cremation ground for the last rites of her son Laxman Reddy, who died of cardiac arrest early in the morning.

“Around afternoon some people broke into the house and took away 300 grams of gold ornaments and Rs 11 lakh. The valuables were kept for the marriage of Satyamma's granddaughter," a police officer said. Police reached the spot and took up investigation. A dog squad and a CLUES team were called to assist the investigators.

“Some persons were closely monitoring the house and burgled it on getting an opportunity,” the police said.
