Andhra Pradesh: Forest department official arrested for selling seized ivory

Hyderabad: A forest department official, Mahaboob Pasha, was caught on February 15 selling seized ivory at Kuppam. Of the five tusks found two were from the Kuppam forest range and two from a poacher in Karnataka. Six people were held for illegally transporting ivory from TN to Bengaluru by Malur police and ivory worth Rs 6 lakh was recovered. Doreswamy, Periy-asamy, Mani, Maya-kannan Mehboob Pasha and one Madhu-sudhan were arrested by Malur police when they were trying to sell the ivory in Chikka Tirupathi.
