Bail plea of student accused of theft rejected

HYDERABAD:  Justice C. Sumalatha of the Telangana High Court on Friday denied bail in a case of theft. The judge was dealing with a bail petition filed by Muffadal Hussain, a 21-year-old student from the city, who was slapped with theft charges last August.

It was contended that he was apprehended after the alleged theft, and the entire amount had been recovered. It was pointed out that the accused had surrendered his passport in the trial court.

The petitioner sought permission to travel to Mecca with his aged parents. The judge denied the bail observing that proceedings were pending before the competent court.
