Hyderabad: Man dies, hospital in trouble

After treatment he returned, again had severe back pain and was rushed to hospital where doctors suggested that he should undergo surgery.

Hyderabad: A 29-year-old man who was working at the fish market in Musheerabad died while undergoing treatment at the Care Hospital in Musheerabad. The man, Sai Kumar, had back pain and was admitted in the hospital on Saturday. He died on Saturday night. A medical negligence case has been registered against the doctors who treated Sai Kumar.

Meanwhile, hospital sources said they followed protocol while treating Sai Kumar. Police said on Friday evening A. Sai Kumar had back pain and went to Care Hospital. After treatment he returned home. On Saturday at around 5.30 am he again had severe back pain and was rushed to hospital where doctors suggested that he should undergo surgery and was taken to Banjara Hills Care Hospital.

Due to his condition he was brought back to Musheerabad without getting the tests done. “Later, he was shifted to Nampally Care Hospital. After an injection and some tests he was brought back to Musheerabad,” inspector B. Mohan Kumar said.

A case of causing death by negligence (304 A) was registered against Dr Anurag and Dr Ramakrishna. Meanwhile, the hospital maintained that it followed procedures as per protocol.

“Sai Kumar’s condition was critical. He had visited two hospitals, but they did not admit him. His treatment was documented and the hospital is ready for any probe,” Dr Annie Thakore of Care Hospital said.
