Big cocaine haul at Hyderabad airport

Hyderabad: Directorate of Revenue Intelligence, Hyderabad, on Tuesday arrested a woman at the airport who was smuggling Rs 10-crore worth of cocaine concealed in books.

DRI director general M.K. Singh said the passenger was intercepted as she arrived from Dubai on an Emirates flight on Tuesday morning. A total of 1.99 kg of cocaine was recovered and seized under the NDPS Act, 1985.

DRI officials refused to reveal the name of the passenger as they are trying to bust the racket. “Further investigation in the case is in progress. She is a middle-class woman from Hyderabad used as a mule.
