Hyderabad: BJP leader M Tirupathi Reddy who went missing from the Tahsildar office at Alwal on July 13 was reportedly traced in Vijayawada. Multiple teams of Cyberabad police who have been on search,  have tracked his movements from Suryapet to VIjawayada, where he is taking shelter at an undisclosed location.

It was also learnt that Reddy has contacted his family members and informed them that he is safe and have also communicated to the police about his safety.

Police officials said they had traced his movements in Vijayawada but are yet to reach the exact location where he is currently staying. Once he is reached and brought to the city, details of why he went missing or if he was kidnapped as claimed by his family and the details behind the mysteries would be known, they said. For now the search is on to trace him, they said.

After his mysterious disappearance, his family accused Malkajgiri MLA Mynampalli Hanumantha Rao of conspiring for the kidnap over an issue on a prime land owned by Reddy and that his associates are directly involved in the kidnap. BJP and BJYM cadres also came out in the family’s support and demanded Reddy’s immediate rescue from the kidnappers.

But police claimed that there has been no evidence of his kidnap or him being taken away forcefully. The MLA also rubbished the allegations and said he would proceed legally against Reddy and his family.
