Telangana: 2 held over exchange of Rs 1.1 crore old notes

Hyderabad: West Zone Task Force police arrested two individuals and seized Rs 1.13 crore in old demonetised currency and Rs 4.36 lakh new currency from their possession on Wednesday. The accused were identified as Manjula R. Joshi, 37, of Visakhapatnam, and K. Naga Venkata Gowri Shankar Gupta, 48, both of them in the realty business.

Task Force DCP B. Limba Reddy said that immediately after demonetisation, Manjula had exchanged old currency notes at 50 per cent from locals. She then came in contact with Naga Venkata Gowri and and discussed plans to exchange old currency notes. They were arrested at Punjagutta when they came for the exchange. They were handed over to the police.
