Bengaluru: Three jewellery shop staffers held for theft
With their arrest, the Rajarajeshwari Nagar Nagar police have solved three cases in their limits and seven in the city.
Bengaluru: The West Division police have arrested seven robbers and recovered 12 bikes, 45 kg of silver articles and Rs 99,000 in cash in three separate cases. Their total worth is Rs 31.65 lakh.
The Kalasipalya police arrested three people who worked in a jewelry shop and had made away with 4.5 kg of silver articles worth Rs 18 lakh.
The accused have been identified as Aadesh alias Aadi, 24, Andani, 23 and Kiran, 19 all are residents of Kavika Layout. The police said that the three were working in a jewellery shop in Avenue Road from where they stole silver articles worth Rs 18 lakh and had kept it hidden in their house. The police arrested them and recovered the stolen articles. In the second incident, Kamakshipalya police arrested two bike thieves and have recovered 11 bikes worth Rs 5 lakh.
The accused have been identified as Ravi Kiran, 24, a resident of Magadi Main Road and Rajiv Kumar, 21, a resident of Harohalli. The police said the accused have been stealing the bikes during late nights and the police had set up a special team after they came across numerous cases of theft.
In another incident, the Rajarajeshwari Nagar police have arrested two chain snatchers and recovered 233 grams of gold chains worth Rs 8.65 lakh.
The accused have been identified as Mohammed Afroz, 26, a resident of Chandra Layout and Zakir Ullah Sharif, 33, a resident of Shamanna Garden. The police said the two used to divert attention of the victims before escaping with their chain in a two wheeler. With their arrest, the RR Nagar police have solved three cases in their limits and seven in the city.
In addition to gold chains, the police also recovered Rs 99,000 in cash. The police have also seized their bike, which they used to carry out thefts.
