An altercation in Adoni town between a temple priest and an individual from the minority community went viral on various social media platforms before being resolved through an apology.

The incident occurred at Tayamma Avva Temple within the Shilpa-Sowbhagya Estate area on August 15.

According to Dasari Yuvaraj, BJP SC Morcha state executive member, Younus, a resident of the area, visited the temple on Tuesday complaining that songs played over loudspeaker by the temple are causing a sound pollution in the vicinity.

This led to a heated exchange of words between Younus and the temple priest Charan. The priest clarified that the songs had been played for only 20 minutes, thrice a week, with the sound confined to the temple premises.

However, Younus contended that the music was disturbing his child and demanded an immediate halt.

Following the argument, Younus filed a complaint with Two Town police against the priest. Police called the priest to the station and warned him against such disturbances.

Priest Charan immediately brought the matter to the attention of temple committee members as well as BJP local leader Yuvaraj and VHP district president Basavanna Goud. They all arrived at the police station, interacted with the circle inspector and demanded that Younus offer apologies.

A video released on Thursday showed Younus extending his unconditional apologies and his manner of approaching the temple priest.
