Cop, lawyer held for gambling in Neredmet

Hyderabad: A constable of the Lallaguda police station, an advocate and six others were arrested by the police during a raid on a house in Neredmet on Monday. Police seized Rs 1.09 lakh from them.

Constable Y. Uma-maheshwar Rao, 47, was arrested. He was arrested three months ago too while organising gambling at his house in Jawahar Nagar. The others arrested are advocate V. Mallesham, 35, P. Bharath, 40, the organizer, M. Nagesh Goud 63, N. Bhaskar Rao, 44, P. Panduranga Rao, 50, N. Sanjeev Reddy, 47 and D. Balakrishna, 35.
 all businessmen.  

Police seized Rs 1,00,920 in cash, mobiles, cars and other material from the house and handed them over to the Neredmet police station for further investigation.

Apart from Mr Umamaheshwar Rao, this was the second arrest for two others for the same offence. On Saturday midnight , SOT had raided Bhongir Club in Bhongir and had arrested 50 persons who were playing cards and had seized Rs 1,12 lakh in cash, 34 bikes, two cars and 50 mobiles
