Bengaluru: Techie robbed, police nab culprit in an hour

BENGALURU: In a quick response from Namma 100 and the Jayanagar police, a robber who had robbed a laptop and two mobile phones from a techie was caught within one hour of the case being reported.
Around 1.30 am on Friday, Girish Mehta, a software engineer at a company in Whitefield, was dropped by a cab near Marenahalli bus-stop and he was walking home. A gang of four robbers accosted him at Jayanagar 4th ‘T’ Block and robbed his laptop and two mobile phones at knifepoint. Girish immediately contacted the police control room, Namma 100. The staff alerted the Hoysala patrolling staff. ASI Satyamurthy and a head constable reached the spot within five minutes and informed Jayanagar station Sub-Inspector Shivakumar P.

On finding one of the accused, the police chased him and caught him. The arrested, Pradeep, 22, is a resident of Bhavani Nagar near Kadirenahalli Cross. Efforts are on to nab three other absconding accused people,” the police said.
