In a gruesome incident, a ten-member gang hacked a 22-year-old man involved in a murder case to death inside a state transport bus near Vadipatti in Madurai district on Friday afternoon.

Hyderabad: The Bhavani Nagar police suspects the role of an insider in the murder of four-year-old Mohammed Omar Ali, who was smothered and killed on Friday. The police examined the CCTV footage of surrounding areas, which did not provide any leads. The kid was sleeping inside the house at night and the room was locked from inside. So, someone must have taken him out, said the inspector of Bhavani Nagar, adding that the PME reports concluded that the boy was smothered and was not sexually assaulted.

V. Satyanarayana, DCP South Zone, said that when the investigation was started, it was suspected that the victim might had seen one of his family members in a compromising position and this might have made the accused kill him, fearing that the boy might disclose it. The body of the boy was found wrapped in a cloth in bushes near his residence at Mohammed Nagar on Friday.
